so not that long ago, i did a reread of martha wells' the fall of ile-rien trilogy. i then read my brand new copy of her stories of the raksura book of novellas that just came out. which instantly made me want to reread her the cloud roads which is the first book in her raksura trilogy

i love martha wells and i love the raksura books, of which this is the third. i recommend both to you very highly. that said, this was my least favorite of the three and would make a poor starting place for the series. ( cut for minimal spoilers )
this is a shared world anthology. i think that scott taylor, the editor, also created the world. he got a lot of terrific authors to sign up, did a kickstarter, got the funds, and published the book--only in e-readable form, i think
